今日のテーマは、「No Holds Barred」
さあ、どういう事でしょうか？
■No Holds Barred
Characters: H = Hiroshi (learner) D = Dana (teacher)
A teacher and a DCEC learner engage in free talk before starting the lesson.
H: Dana! You won’t believe it! I went to karaoke last night.
D: Oh really? How was it?
H: Honestly, it was no holds barred.
People were singing like
it was the finals of a world championship.
D: (laughs) Did you go overboard too?
H: Absolutely. I sang five songs in a row.
My voice is still hoarse this morning.
D: Wow, resilient as always! What songs did you sing?
H: A crazy mix! We sang anime soundtracks, country songs,
and even Enka! The room was just a cacophony of voices.
D: Sounds like fun. How did people react?
H: They were ecstatic!
At one point, my friend made a spontaneous dance move,
and the whole room joined in.
D: That’s the spirit! Totally unrestrained joy through music.
So… when are you inviting me to the next one?
H: (laughs) Careful, Dana.
If you come, you’ll see a whole new side of me.

講師とDCECのラーナーが、レッスン開始前にフリートークをしている場面。
H: ダナ！信じられないことがあったんだ！昨晩カラオケに行ってきたんだよ。
D: へえ、そうなんだ。どうだった？
H: 正直、何でもありって感じだったよ。
みんなまるで世界大会の決勝戦かのように歌ってたんだ。
D:（笑）ヒロシもはっちゃけちゃったの？
H: もちろんさ。5曲連続で歌ったよ。今朝もまだ声がかれてるくらい。
D: さすがタフだね！どんな曲を歌ったの？
H: めちゃくちゃなミックスさ！アニメの主題歌、カントリー、
そして演歌まで歌ったよ。部屋中が声のカオスだった。
D: 楽しそうだね。みんなの反応はどうだった？
H: 大盛り上がりだったよ！
ある時、友達が即興で踊りだしたんだけど、
部屋中みんなが一緒に乗ってたんだ。
D: そのノリだね！音楽を通しての全開の楽しさだ。
で…次はいつ私を誘ってくれるの？
H:（笑）気をつけて、ダナ。
来たら僕の全く新しい一面が見られるよ。何でもありだから！
