英語の上達には勉強ではなく、日々英語を使うこと。

■A Foot?

H: It was fun and interesting because it was the first time
since I'd been in the Sales Department and I seldom
have a chance to go to other departments aside from
the Production Department.
C: That’s neat! I’m sure just a quick visit to your R&D
Department and you’ll see a lot of new hardware, gadgets,
and projects afoot.
H: A foot? I don’t think we have any developments about a foot.
C: Oh, actually, that’s one word, “afoot”.
H: Oh. What does it mean?
C: Afoot is synonymous with “underway” or “in progress”.
H: Ohh, so you were talking about new hardware and gadgets
being developed.
C: Yeah.
H: And not human feet!
C: Exactly!
H: For a moment there, I was thinking about gadgets
that looked like a foot.
(Chan and Hina both laugh)
