A governess and a learner during their free chat:
K: How was your weekend, Tatsuya?
T: Hmm, it was...fun. I guess…(hesitant)
K: (chuckles) If I remember correctly, you mentioned that
you were going back to your hometown, right?
T: That’s right!
K: Alright, so what made it fun?
T: As you know, I’m from Yamanashi Prefecture.
K: Uh-huh...
T: One of the most popular destinations there is Fuji-Q
Highland. Have you heard of it?
K: Oh yeah! It’s quite a popular amusement park. I’ve
seen it on social media pages that feature interesting
travel destinations in the world.
T: Wow, really?! I didn’t know it was THAT famous. (surprised)
Anyway, I went there with some friends last weekend.
K: That sounds really fun! (in an excited tone)
T: Well, spending time with my friends was fun, but I don't
think I can say the same about the attractions.
K: Hm? Why is that? (confused)
T: First of all, I’m not particularly fond of roller coasters
and horror houses…(frowns)
K: But aren’t those the main attractions of the amusement park?
T: That’s the point! My friends were so persistent in giving
them a try.
K: Yes! How was the experience?
T: I was already on pins and needles when we joined the queue.
K: You know, I'd always been curious about that famed horror
house.
T: It takes guts to make it through! Entering the place was
enough to send a chill down my spine. And all the screams
and surprises definitely scared the daylights out of me!
(shivers)
K: That actually sounds really exciting!
T: EH?! (shocked) You’ve got nerves of steel, Kimberly!

K: (含み笑い) 私の記憶が正しければ、あなたは実家に帰っているって言っていたわよね？
T: そうだよ!
K: じゃぁ、何が楽しかったの？
T: 知っていると思うけど、僕は山梨県出身なんだ。
K: えぇ..,
T: 山梨の有名なスポットの一つなんだけど、富士急ハイランドって聞いたことある？
K: えぇ! すごく人気のある遊園地よ！SNSの記事で、世界の面白い観光スポットの
として掲載されていたわ！
T: 本当!？ そんなに有名だったなんて知らなかったよ！ (驚き)
とにかく、先週友達とそこに行ったんだ。
K: すごく楽しそうじゃない！（興奮気味に）
T: うーん、友達と一緒に過ごす時間は楽しかったよ、でもアトラクションに関しては
そう思えないね。
K: え？どうして? (困惑して)
T: ます、僕はジェットコースター、あとお化け屋敷も好きじゃないんだ..。(しかめ面)
K: でも、それらがメインのアトラクションでしょう？
T: そこなんだよ! 友達たちは延々と乗り続けるようとするんだ。
K: そうね！ どうだった?
T: 列に並ぶときからすでにびくびくしていたよ。
K: ねぇ、私はいつもあの有名なお化け屋敷に興味があるの。
T: 入って出るまで勇気がいるけどね! 入るだけで背筋が凍ったよ。
悲鳴と驚きのせいで本当に怖かったよ。 (ぞくぞくしながら)
K: とても面白そうね!
T: えぇ！？ (驚き) 強靭な神経を持っているんだね、 キンバリー!
