A Before coming to Japan, I used to teach college students, edit journal articles, and write speeches for different individuals. Of the three, teaching is what I enjoy doing the most. It provides me a chance to meet new acquaintances and friends, as well as stimulates my mind into thinking productively. Furthermore, the challenge of the profession is something I cannot resist. Thinking how many people you can affect, as they affect you as well, makes me view it in a special way.
One of the reasons why I chose to come to Japan is my desire to improve myself in all aspects possible. Related to this, I believe that being part of one of Japan`s top universities would allow me to attain personal, professional, and academic growth. Furthermore, being in this country provides me an opportunity to experience a new culture and, more importantly, to learn something good from it. Hopefully, I can bring some of these good things back to my country once I return home.
During my free time, I enjoy listening to light or mellow music, watching comic, feel-good, or adventure films, reading books, or engaging in sports like basketball and bowling. I also love to surf the net, write commentaries, and engage in friendly discussions. I also try to take advantage of opportunities, if there are, to travel around or visit gardens and places close to nature.
Being part of DCEC allows me to go back to one of the things I`ve learned to love: teaching. It gives me a chance to meet new people and learn from them in as much as I try my best to help them learn something new as well. Someone once said, `It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect it`s successful outcome. ` So, with a cheerful and sunny attitude, let`s embark on this exciting journey of learning in a fun way together.

My fascination with Japan and its culture started at a very young age upon exposure to classic Japanese Anime and Samurai movies. My fondness for this country got compounded by the TV program called “Japan Video Topics” that offered a broad view of Japanese culture, society, nature, science and technology. This enthrallment further developed and culminated into my first visit to Japan in 2004. Living in Japan and experiencing its culture first hand was even better than I initially imagined. Since then, I have returned to Japan to pursue my Ph.D.
There is nothing more gratifying than helping others realize their goals in life. As a member of De la Cruz, I want to achieve this by facilitating in the desire of the Japanese learners to be more comfortable in using the English language for expressing their ideas and opinions. With this, I find fulfillment in contributing a little to the establishment of a world that is free from language barrier.
