Shoji Yumi (Receptionist)
Educational Background
International Business Certificate Achievement Degree
Tulsa Community College Oklahoma, U.S.A
Visiting Canada and experiencing home stay for the first time when I was in junior high inspired and fascinated me a lot.
Ever since then my interest in foreign countries got bigger and bigger each day, and I desired to communicate with non-Japanese in English.
After graduating from high school, I was studying at a college for foreign languages for a year, after which I decided to go to the U.S. to study for two years.
Looking back, the experience could never be forgotten and I believe it played an important part in my life. Unlike watching TV dramas and movies and reading books and magazines, actually living there to see and feel it for real was totally different.
Each person I met and each experience I had were invaluable. Moreover, I could mature a lot and learn life lessons from them.

In Dela Cruz, I hope the experience that I gained will be beneficial for learners who are learning English here, and I am always happy to assist them in enjoying the lessons.
At the same time, I appreciate that I could learn a lot and partake of the cheerful spirits and motivation from the learners, governesses and staff.

Speaking of my source of vitality -- to see and feel different by going out, driving, traveling to interesting places, and eating different foods, especially in all-you-can-eat restaurants, always excite me!
Recently I have also liked taking pictures, so my digital camera is always with me when I go out.
As being exposed to music is also essential in my life, I feel tempted to go to live events once I find the good ones.
And of course, a life filled with a smile or a laugh brings me joy and happiness every day.

Hello, everybody!
I am Takashi Kashikura and you can call me Ted.
I joined Dela Cruz as a client adviser in 2008 and you can see me at the reception desk every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

My main responsibility is to take care of Dela Cruz learners.
I would be glad to assist you in any way I can.
I have traveled to 50 or more countries through my job as a trading company man and expatriate employee for over 30 years, working for 13 years in the U.S. (New York, San Diego, Mexico) and two years in Indonesia.
I have had a great deal of experience in doing business in world markets as an internationally-minded person.
Since I want to find a way to make use of my experience and knowledge to you, learners, please feel free to get in touch with me.
I would be happy to attend to any of your questions.
There are three people in my family - my wife, Burappi ( a female cat born in the U.S.), and my mother-in-law.
My wife had bad English skills and was not able to speak it at all before she came to the U.S.
However, it seems that her outgoing character and her not being shy with foreigners helped her a lot.
She probably has mastered English through listening and talking with others.
Nowadays, neither talking to foreigners nor telephone exchanges is difficult for her.

My hobbies are bird watching, golf, soccer, tennis, book reading, and jazz music, preferably with wine and martini.
I look forward to seeing you all at Dela Cruz.
